Realme 5 Pro Review: Since Realme 5 Pro Review was founded, it has brought very interesting products to the market. What sets it apart from many other brands, in fact, is the value for money of its devices. During these months, therefore, he showed a truly enviable focus on the end customer. In fact, this company has always tried to offer different smartphones in various price ranges, satisfying any type of wallet. With Realme 5 Pro Review , therefore, the brand has proposed an average range device that does not want to stand out in any particular sector, even though it proposes a hardware quite balanced. How did this smartphone behave in our tests? Has he managed to win our trust? Let’s find out more in our full review.

Unboxing:Realme 5 Pro Review
If we look at the sales package, we see on the front the image of the device, on both sides. Within this box, therefore, we find:
- Realme 5 Pro;
- USB cable / USB Type-C;
- wall power supply with European socket;
- transparent soft silicone cover;
- short instruction manual, also in Italian;
- pin for the SIM slot.
Design & Materials:Realme 5 Pro Review
Taking a look at the rear profile of this smartphone, we can appreciate its design. Realme wanted to create, in fact, a device equipped with particular plays of light, presenting this style, similar to diamond, certainly unique in its kind. Moreover, this Crystal Green coloring does nothing but enhance this type of design. Beyond this aspect, however, the product does not present exaggerated dimensions, measuring 157 x 74.2 x 8.9 mm , with a weight of 188 grams. From the point of view of handling, therefore, you will have no problem managing this smartphone during all your activities. I remind you, however, that the rear shell is almost certainly made of plastic, so you will have to pay more attention than necessary to avoid ruining it.
The whole side frame is made of metal , with a satin surface of the same color on the back. It should also be noted that between the display and the same metal profile there is a thin layer of plastic, which we find on many other devices in this price range. Also on the back, then, I noticed the presence of a little oleophobic surface, which therefore holds too many imprints. Despite this, on the right we find the on / off button, while on the opposite side we have the volume rocker keys and the double nano SIM slot .
On the upper part we find only the secondary microphone for the suppression of ambient noise, while the main one is placed at the bottom. Next to this, therefore, there is also the mini jack hole for the headphones , as well as the USB Type-C input and the system speaker . On the back, however, we have a quad camera, assisted by the single LED flash and the fingerprint reader .
Display:Realme 5 Pro Review
On board of Realme 5 Pro Review we find a 6.3 inch IPS LCD display with FHD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), density of 409 PPI and form factor in 19.5: 9 . As we can see, glancing at the front part, top notch resides in a drop containing a selfie room from 16 mega-pixel and aperture f / 2.0 . From the point of view of the colors returned, we can attribute a full sufficiency to this product, given that all the shades are quite faithful to reality, although whites and blacks are not too deep. In case you were not in tune with the initial calibration of thecolors themselves, however, you could always adjust it using the appropriate menu in the settings.
During the whole period of use of this smartphone I noticed a slight delay between the touch and the reaction on the screen. If you switch from a high-end device, to use this device, you will notice the difference from the first moment. This feeling, however, is not always as pronounced as on Realme 5 Pro Review. After a short period of time, however, it gets used to it and this discrepancy is no longer detected so strongly. Despite this, I did not notice any particular problems during the writing process, although during the more agitated phases the system tends to lose a few touches .
Using this device on the outside, I did not feel any problem in terms of brightness , being able to see the screen well even in direct sunlight. In fact, on this phone, the brightness sensor is quite responsive, while maintaining a level that is always slightly too low.
Realme 5 Pro features a Soc Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 , with 2 x 2.3 GHz Kryo 360 Gold architecture + 6 x 1.7 GHz Kryo 360 Silver . It is, therefore, an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock frequency of 2.3 GHz, equipped with a 10nm production process and an Adreno 616 GPU. In our model, then, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage . These can also be increased up to 128GB, thanks to a microSD to be inserted in the SIM slot.
How does it behave in everyday use? Obviously, we are not talking about a top-of-the-range smartphone, so everything will have to be related to its price range. We are however in the presence of a product able to satisfy most of the users who are looking for a reliable phone . In every respect, in fact, this product manages to maintain satisfactory performance, navigating easily between the various menus, as well as on all the applications installed in the system. With Facebook , Instagram , Telegram and others, therefore, you will never have any problems. Don’t expect, however, to find several apps open in the backgroundeven after some time from the last use. Indeed, it seems that the system wants to maintain a rather conservative approach from this point of view.
With some less powerful games, present on the Play Store, you can reach a very high level of playability. Going to use, instead, slightly heavier titles like Call of Duty Mobile , the graphic quality drops drastically but the performances remain good. In fact, large frame drops are not noticed during game sessions, maintaining good stability.
Not everyone, perhaps, is familiar with ColorOS . This system, therefore, represents one of the many customizations of Android, which allows you to take advantage of a really wide number of options. On Realme 5 Pro, however, the ColorOS6.0 , based on Android 9 Pie and with security patches that, just before the review, were updated to November 2019 , finds space. From this point of view, Realme could follow a long time this software- level phone , since even on older models new updates are constantly arriving.
As I have reiterated in other reviews, this type of customization is still a little too tied to Chinese culture. If in the future, however, were to show a different graphics, perhaps more minimal, it could really stand as one of the ROM of Android better managed in terms of options. On ColorOS, in fact, the level of customization is very high, being able to manage different parameters at will. On all, however, we find a range of colorsreally very varied, in almost every sector. In the quick toggle window, for example, we see how each key indicates a certain state of the various functions. This system is certainly very intuitive and sympathetic, but very distant from what we are used to seeing on most European software. I also find the main menu a bit distracting , which is not really intuitive.
Within the software, however, we have many Android functions available also on other devices, such as the Digital Wellness option and a device control system, called Phone Management . Through it, therefore, it will be possible to monitor the state of health of the phone, searching for viruses, cleaning the cache memory and much more.
Camera:Realme 5 Pro Review
If we take a look at the back of this smartphone, we can see how four different sensors are present. On the primary one the word “48MP” is reported and, in fact, on board of this unit there is a Sony IMX586 sensor with 48 mega-pixels . We find, then, a secondary lens of 8 mega-pixels that presents a wide-angle lens . The other two sensors, both with 2 mega-pixels , are used for macros and for calculating depth of field .
Taking a look at the images, we see that the shots are not absolutely low level. Taking advantage of the main camera, which by default is not set to 48 mega-pixels, it is possible to obtain excellent results. This sensor can therefore manage outdoor lighting quite well during the day , rarely overexposing the lighter areas. From every point of view, then, there is also a certain care for details , which however is accentuated when the maximum possible resolution is exploited. With 48 mega-pixelshowever, it will not be possible to access some accessory functions, such as the HDR. Using the other sensors, then, you get good results, especially with macros, which turn out to be really good. Less exciting, however, is the result returned by the wide-angle sensor, with which a lot of quality is lost in terms of details.
Daylight Photo samples
At night the quality drops slightly, especially in the most illuminated areas. In this case, in fact, the sensor cannot manage the lights well, burning many parts. We do not recommend, then, the use of the wide-angle sensor, although with the night mode you can still save the shot. This option, in fact, is almost miraculous in some cases, making some really substantial changes to the image, which also makes sharing on social networks attractive.
Night Photo samples
Regarding the selfie camera , we find on this smartphone a 16 mega-pixel unit , so a Sony IMX471 sensor . I must admit that, in this case, the quality expressed by this objective impressed me considering the price range to which the device is proposed. With a further update, also it has been introduced in the software even Endeavor study ways to, in charge of the improvement in image quality in difficult situations. Therefore, both day and night, this sector is absolutely promoted, giving a noteworthy bokeh effect .
Video:Realme 5 Pro Review
If we are going to analyze video quality specifically, we cannot show the same kind of satisfaction expressed in photography. Whether you shoot in 1080p at 60fps or in 4K at 30fps , digital stabilization is completely absent, making videos hardly usable.
Sorry that in this field the company has failed to offer something better, because in this way it would surely dominate in every aspect in its price range. On the visual level, however, the quality remains good.
Connectivity:Realme 5 Pro Review
On this smartphone lies a compartment on the connectivity not quite complete. As even reproached on some other competing model, the NFC is missing. I find that this component is now fundamental in the business environment but, above all, in the daily use of any smart user. Many transactions, within various businesses, take place precisely through this tool. Despite this, however, there is space for Bluetooth 5.0 , Wi-Fi ac Dual Band , GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS / BEIDOU and an LTE network. I must admit that, except for some indecision in the connection of the signal with the GPS, all these functions return excellent performance, guaranteeing a more than satisfactory coverage.
There are two release systems present. With the biometric sensor it is possible to access the home quite quickly, although this reader recognizes our fingerprint about 8 times out of 10. In case you do not want to exploit it consistently, however, you can rely on the Face Unlock in 2D. I remind you, however, that in the darkest areas the face recognition percentage decreases drastically, so it does not appear to be very reliable.
Audio:Realme 5 Pro Review
The audio quality of this smartphone is not surprising . On the lower frame, in fact, there is the only source from which all the power is released. Thus, from the speaker , you can hear a maximum volume in the standard, without any kind of disturbance, with almost no low frequencies and a really too flat sound. Watching some video content on YouTube or Netflix won’t be a problem anyway.
From the ear capsule , on the other hand, we can hear our interlocutor well, without feeling any critical importance. No disturbance is found and the sound seems to be fairly clean. Despite this, in slightly more crowded places you might have a hard time feeling the voice on the other side of the receiver, due to a not too high volume.
Battery:Realme 5 Pro Review
Inside Realme 5 Pro Review we find a 4035 mAhbattery . Thanks to it you will be able to finish your work day without any problem, with still a good amount of energy to spend in the evening. During a classic day, therefore, with a mixture of Wi-Fi and 4G, internet browsing, use of social networks and various chats, four open email accounts, I passed 6 hours of screen on , on a basis of about 14 hours of continuous use .
Therefore, by taking advantage of this telephone, you could even conclude almost two days of use. In the event that the battery runs down, however, you could recharge it using your own power supply with 5V / 4A output . It will only take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to go from 10 to 100%.
Price & Conclusions:Realme 5 Pro Review
By the time this review comes out, we will be in the period of Black Friday 2019, so prices could be heavily influenced by this annual event. However, this smartphone currently costs $221 USD , in the 4/128 version . There is also a model with 8GB RAM , which has a price of $277 USD .
According to our humble opinion these figures are absolutely in line with the product that is proposed by the company. If we take a look at the competition, on the contrary, we could find ourselves in front of a smartphone characterized by an almost unbeatable quality-price ratio at present. Although it does not stand out in any particular sector, this device makes it possible to carry out all daily activities with satisfaction and in a rather reliable manner.Realme 5 Pro Review
